Guild Vision:
This a raiding guild. We want to kill Illidan and be on top of progression when the next expansion and/or patch is available. We do not have mandatory attendance policies for raiding, but if you have no interest in raiding, please do not apply. That being said, we would like the guild to be friendly, fun, progressive and most importantly, drama-free.
Official Guild Policies:
Membership to Sons of Liches is a privilege, not a right. This is not a statement of narcissism; rather it is a statement of pride. We value the quality of our people, the quality of our raids, and the general enjoyment of the game. This is a community of friends and family that work together, and it just so happens we also like to raid and progress. In order to support this balance of serious raiding and overall fun in the guild, we ask that members of our guild read, understand, and adhere to the policies outlined in this post. While we want this to be a fun place to be and raid, we require boundaries to maintain a high standard of people and raids.
Guild Chat/Ventrilo:
We want guild chat and Ventrilo to be open, friendly and un-offensive. Please refrain from having discussions on controversial topics such as Religion, Politics and Explicit Sexual content in Guild Chat. We’re pretty loose on language/profanity in guild chat, however racial slurs and similarly offensive content is strictly prohibited. This guild is composed of people from many backgrounds and beliefs and we ask that you respect everyone’s differences while here.
Forum Usage:
Please try to keep topics in their appropriate thread. We will try to use the forums as a way to announce guild events as well as the GMotD. All stickied topics are considered required reading for all raiding members.
Member Rights and Responsibilities:
1) Respect: While it is inevitable for people to develop differences with someone else within the guild, we require everyone to exercise a level of respect for your fellow guild members. Joking around is one thing, but make sure the person knows you are joking and is okay with it. Everything we do in this game must be done as a team, and as such we need to be able to work with each other. Personal Attacks will not be tolerated.
2) Reputation: This is a follow up on the first rule, but pertains with grouping with players outside of our guild. We ask that you try to be civil to others in-game. I’m sure there will be times where someone is a complete jerk to you—in these cases, try to be the better man and not provoke them further. We would like to try to maintain a reputation of being a mature guild.
3) Open Door Policy: The leadership of this guild respects the fact that the guild members may have suggestions or take issue with particular policy or events that transpire within the guild. We would like our members to feel comfortable approaching any officers if such a case arises. Bear in mind however, that while we are open to suggestions and listening to you as a member, the Officers and particularly the Guild Leader have final say in policy decisions. Once a decision has been made, consider the case closed unless additional circumstances arise that brings the issue back to light.
4) Reporting: While no one likes a “tattle-tale” if circumstances arise where you feel that you’ve been treated wrongly by another member of the guild, you should feel free to report the incident to any of the officers. However, prior to doing so, be sure that you have attempted to resolve any personal conflict amongst yourselves through in-game tells. Reasons for reporting may include: Harassment; Repeated Personal Attacks; Ninja-Looting; etc. All recriminations are at the discretion of the officers and/or Guild leader. These decisions are final.
5) Exploitation of Game Mechanics: We absolutely do not condone cheating/botting/exploiting the game/etc. for any reason at any level. If you are found to be exploiting in any way, you will promptly be removed from the guild without question. This is your only warning on this matter.
Guild Meetings:
From time to time, guild meetings may be required. Please always read the GMotD when logging on for crucially important information and check the forums regularly.
